People have been asking me how to start working on big changes in their lives and I always answer that they should do it in little ways with big beliefs. We must both believe and do together; one without the other brings nothing! So here is one way to bring about transformation for yourself. You are probably used to a meditation being calming, 10 minutes long and all quiet and ‘fall asleep-like’. Our Healing CQ meditations are nothing like that, perhaps quite the opposite! Instead of relax I want you to focus. Focus on changing your life. Here. Now. We have bought into the idea that if we think about change for long enough it may finally just happen one day. Our business at the Center for Healing and Life Transformation is all about change and you need to know it doesn’t happen easily for most people. In fact they only come to the Center when they are tired of living for years and decades without ever having successfully changed their lives for the better.
People settle. They cope. They avoid the subject of change over time and just accept the false fact that they have a bad deal, or a victim to some circumstance. What we do know is that if you have the right system of change that you, or anyone else, can make massive changes for themselves in a very short period of time. Some people have a rock-bottom of some kind, or a near death experience or suffer some sort of trauma and then they effect change immediately. So the proof is there that change can happen instantly over a very emotional or high intensity experience. The good news is that you don’t have to wait for something bad to happen. Rather, make something good happen. The Total Abundance Meditation below is one of many ways and means we use to start with little changes with big beliefs.
Cause change to happen for yourself by learning how to do it. You need to practice the guitar daily before you’re able to play like a rock star. Same thing goes with life transformation, overcoming depression or anxiety and codependence for that matter. Powerful techniques applied everyday to your familiar and ordinary life will cause change to happen. When you change what things mean to you, your life will start to change, evolve and transform. Thats how it happens for millions of people everyday; the science is already out, so there is no need to wonder if, or why, anymore. Now, all we need to do is know is how. How change really happens
Thoughts in the mind, effect feelings in the body which affect how we do things and then the consequences of the things we do emerge into reality. This behaviour chain of events (learn more here) can be interrupted and intercepted at any time, along any link in the chain and outcomes are therefore effected. In other words change happens. The key to understanding what’s going on in a behavior chain and why it creates reliable almost addictive behavior is to know that any trigger we experience with our five senses is also a conditioned reinforcer. Put another way, a cue, which is the “green light” for a thought, feeling and behavior that leads to some kind of reward. Like a dopamine hit after completing a long hike. Or the fuzzy feeling you get when someone gives you a compliment.
To use you CQ or contemplative intelligence which is essentially our meta-thinking capabilities, we are able to break the chains that bind us. We use our 12 and 6 week courses to help people do this of course which are popular around the world for good reason. We see people heal depression, cure personality disorders that don’t seem to reemerge and we see them making these changes, that we scientifically and psychodynamically track, in relatively short periods of time. How do you start creating change? First by knowing change needs to happen. This is self reflective awareness. Then understanding that change will be a process you will have to make happen for yourself by moving into the uncertain, the new and the unknown. You will have to risk believing that you can make change happen. Then, finally you will see the change, hold onto and embrace that change and then build on it. We have a lot of growing and personal development to do. It never stops and neither should we. Don’t ever stop growing and don’t ever stop believing.
