Spiritual Solutions for everyday problems could be called daily awakening’s. In fact this is what we think the road map to healing and life transformation could easily be called today. Awakening is about waking up the world through consciousness. Sometimes nothing more is needed than more consciousness. If we were more conscious we wouldn’t do the silly things we do. The idea is that we become more conscious and then stop doing the silly things that get us into trouble. The things that get us negative instead of positive outcomes.
The Journey from small self, if we can label it that, is one which is laced in ego defences that will eventually get you into emotional and mental issues if you don’t realize they are no longer working and you don’t let them go. A paradigm shift is needed to get to a big self, one that is healthy and growing and balanced. The old ego personality has to go in lieu of a more authentic and courages higher self.

We have something called Amygdala Hijack that occurs when our lizard brain thinks we are fighting for our very lives when in fact, the threats are way out of proportion to the reality of the environment. So the idea of an awakening is really to help people realise that it has happened to them in the first place! Then they need to learn how normal it is to go through these emotional and mental challenges that we face. Most importantly they then will come to realise that they can change their lives by taking certain steps towards mindful practice, practices of calming the mind and the body down everyday.
Do this long enough and in just 6 weeks or so the research shows us that you can significantly heal, restore and recover from almost any emotional problem that you have. You drop the story line that your mind produces with around 85 000 thoughts a day and then things actually start to change and people have said, wait a minute, are you telling me I can get out of this stuckness and depression and hell that I am in by regulating my thoughts, which regulate my breath and every neural connection, heart beat and the nervous system patterns that I have throughout each day and night, and today we can answer yes. Yes, of course you can.

It is not so much the practice you choose, but it is the doing of the practice itself that we have discovered is the thing that makes this miraculous changes that get you to start living through prefrontal cortex capability. Meditation, mindfulness, psychotherapy, life coaching and massage all work at getting you to calm the tensions that hold you hostage in your limbic, lizard mind. The problem is we don’t realise that if we intentionally practice these letting go’s and start to consciously understand their healing significance is mandatory and not optional, then you must know that you are healing your depression and anxious thoughts.

By connecting to others, trying and then mastering mindful practices like meditation, prayer, contemplation or even yoga will help you start a journey towards your own healing and awakening. Add that to practices like talking about your deep inner feelings each week or journaling, doing classes and courses and then you’re on the right track to letting go of what doesn’t work simply by becoming more conscious. That is all that happens in a psychiatrist office, a hypnotherapy session or the counselling chair. You just talk, realize, accept and then do life a little differently. So yes, you certainly can heal your life. Don’t stay stuck.
